Glossary

The agentic demo category, defined.

A quick reference for the terms behind agentic demos — what they mean and why they matter.

Agentic demo
A live, AI-run product demo: an agent operates your real software in real time and adapts to each visitor in conversation.
Buying signal
An indication of intent — like asking about pricing, timelines, or integrations — that can trigger a human handoff.
Demo flow
A reusable unit of a demo: a piece of conversation plus the in-product actions and timing that go with it.
Discovery
The opening questions that uncover a prospect's role, goals, and challenges, used to tailor the rest of the demo.
Guardrails
Constraint-based rules that define how the agent behaves on sensitive topics like pricing, competitors, and roadmap — and when to defer to a human.
Handoff
Passing a high-intent prospect to a human account executive, along with the recording and full context bundle.
Interactive demo
A clickable replay of a pre-recorded path through a static clone of a product — the same path for every visitor, with no real conversation.
Knowledge base
Your indexed docs, FAQs, transcripts, and brand assets that ground the agent's answers in your own truth rather than generic AI output.
Lead intelligence
The structured data captured from each session: features explored, questions asked, engagement depth, and detected buying signals.
Live intent monitoring
A real-time view of active sessions ranked by a buying score, so reps can take over the hottest ones.
Playbook
A rule that triggers an action — like syncing a lead or sending a notification — when conditions on a session are met.
RBAC
Role-based access control: governing who can view and edit sections and demo flows by role.
Sales engineer (SE)
The person who runs technical demos and answers product questions in a sales process. An agentic demo automates the repetitive first demos.
Sandbox demo
A working instance of the product a prospect explores on their own, without an agent guiding the way.
Snippet
Pre-written wording the agent uses verbatim when a condition is met, so key moments are never left to chance.
